The C.H.A.N.G.E Project

DOBARA is now a Knowledge Partner with the Javed Abidi Foundation (JAF) which is a youth led voluntary initiative. JAF is a youth advocacy group set up as a tribute to late disability rights activist Javed Abidi.

JAF wants to work on mainstreaming disability as it is an intersectional issue which cuts across different areas of concern. They have launched a new project focusing on these following subjects:

Child Rights, Health, Age Related, Nutrition, Gender & Sexuality and Environment & Education (C.H.A.N.G.E.)

Together we aim to learn about different issues and approaches on how to identify and address intersectionalities by engaging with as many people as possible whilst also making them more aware about the issues of people with disabilities.

The goal is to grow through mutual exchange of ideas and peer learning processes with a core belief that change-makers of tomorrow should see disability as an identity issue and actively work on mainstreaming it. Mindsets needs to change for true diversity and inclusion.

It is imperative that we understand the diversity in disability and work with persons with disabilities as allies to support their battle for basic services and view them as a key part of the larger system of marginalized groups.

To achieve this awareness and growth campaign, we would like to invite you to join us for 2 special DOBARA x JAF Zoom Events.

SESSION 1 : Disability Awareness by Team JAF on 21st March 2021 at 6.30pm India Time

SESSION 2 : Senior Wellbeing and the Experience of Aging by Team DOBARA on 28th March 2021 at 6.30pm India Time

This is an opportunity to grow and learn and see things from a different perspective. It is an opportunity to share and find common points that we can work on together with others. We look forward to your active participation! Let's grow and share together!
