About the event

DOBARA is now a Knowledge Partner with the Javed Abidi Foundation (JAF) which is a completely youth led voluntary initiative.

They have launched a new project focusing on these following subjects:

Child Rights,Health, Age Related, Nutrition, Gender & Sexuality and Environment & Education (C.H.A.N.G.E.)

Our project aims to raise awareness. To change the mindsets of individuals, we want to foster

partnerships which promote collaboration and we want to learn about intersectionalities amongst

different themes of the development sector so that the ‘invisible minority’ is not just treated as a

check box but their identity is recognised and their rights are realised.

It is imperative that we understand the diversity in disability, work with persons with disabilities as

allies to support their battle for basic services on the account of being doubly disadvantaged in most

cases and view them as a key stakeholder part of the larger system of marginalised groups.

With this in mind, we invite you to join us on the 21st of March 2021 at 6.30pm on Zoom to attend the first Session organised by JAF for the C.H.A.N.G.E Project. This session will enlighten us on the issues linked with disability and empower us with the tools needed to be a part of the change for the future.

Session 2 will be held on the 28th of March 2021 at 6.30pm where DOBARA will share about Senior Wellbeing with the team of JAF.

The goal is to find intersections where there are common interests that we can pursue to work on together. The goal is to build a strong community of supporters. The goal is to build awareness.
