Our brain is a muscle, and like any other muscle in the body, if we don't use it - we lose it. Different types of puzzles and games stimulate different parts of our brain.
Whether it is word games, number games, picture puzzles, strategy games, board games, memory games, trivia or Tambola / Bingo - each of these games stimulates a particular part of your brain.
When you engage in playing games and solving puzzles, your brain thinks you are on a hunt. It's all about the hunt to uncover the solution, to win the prize - like a detective - Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple!
This hunt for answers and solutions stimulates various areas of the brain that combine discovery and a sense of satisfation and achievement all in one bundle.
Puzzles and Brain Games are perfect tools to help you unwind, relax, concentrate, focus and reduce stress levels. Essentially while we are having fun, we are also doing ourselves a world of good!
Different puzzles and games help activate new parts of your brain as you work to problem solve. This is brainpower boosting, mental fitness in its simplest form. You can do this at home, by yourself and it is all going into your self-care investment portfolio!
Puzzles activate both the left and right hemispheres of your brain because what happens is that your memory and imagination get activated at the same time as your logic, reasoning and problem solving skills.
While games like Tambola involve our listening, reading and concentration skills.
The pleasure and sense of satisfaction you feel when you solve a puzzle - that comes from a rush of dopamine - your reward for a good mental workout!
Consider adding some games and puzzles to your daily schedule - it could be a daily crossword, sudoku, quiz or our daily DOBARA Humble Jumble - the goal is to improve concentration, focus, mental agility and build a good habit through consistency.
It's not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives. It's what we do consistently." - Tony Robbins
As you know, last year in April 2020, DOBARA launched a Virtual Wellbeing Program which has grown and evolved and this July 2021 - we are celebrating some important milestones!!
We would like to THANK our fabulous Volunteer, Mr.Chandrasekar, who has hosted daily brain games every day, without fail for the last 365 days!!! Also credit goes to autocorrect because of which these puzzles have now been nicknamed the Daily Humble Jumble!
Everyday, at the same time Chandrasekar posts the puzzles, collects the answers and then posts the results with unique titles for all the winners! A big feat to carry out on a daily basis. We really appreciate his support and initiative in keeping us mentally fit.
It's my daily routine. I enjoy doing it - especially during these covid lockdowns. I think I may be addicted to solving brain games now! - Chandrasekar

For those who enjoy a social game, we have a weekly Virtual Tambola Whatsapp Game hosted by Riyazuddin Ahmed, our amazing DOBARA Volunteer!
Riyaz has hosted 50 Tambola Sundays since the past year and thanks to him our Sundays are fun, exciting days with the possibility of winning prizes sponsored by some amazing people and companies every month! It's a wonderful reason to connect and enjoy a lovely Sunday afternoon playing games with friends. Riyaz's daughter helps as his co-host and some of our members play along with their grandkids! This is a game for everyone!
Hosting the Tambola games for a close knit group is super fun and exciting. I eagerly look forward to Sunday afternoons! As the saying goes "The best feeling of Happiness is when you're happy because you made somebody else happy." - Riyazuddin Ahmed
