Every year, DOBARA hosts a heartfelt poetry reading event in celebration of mothers, offering a space for both poets and participants to express their emotions, memories, and love for the most important woman in their lives – their mother. Many of our members have experienced the profound loss of their mothers, and this event serves as a beautiful, emotional tribute where original poems are shared, and some recite beloved works by others – all on the theme of motherhood.

On 28th September 2024, we gather to mark a special occasion. This year, we commemorate the 6th anniversary of Begum Khadija Ansari's passing. For six consecutive years, DOBARA has assisted seniors in honoring the memory of their mothers, in partnership with Mrs. Farida Hussain, the daughter of Begum Khadija Ansari and Justice M.R.A. Ansari.
